What Cheshire County Council does with its old computers?

To deliver the highest standards of service Cheshire County Council has a regular programme of updating its computer equipment. It also recognises the need to protect data confidentiality and comply with copyright legislation for software.

However we are keen to make sure that the community gains the maximum benefit from our investment in ICT equipment. To achieve this the authority is doing what it can to recycle hardware as much as possible.

Before disposing of computer equipment, the Council optimises its resources by reallocating machines to other parts of our organisation. People who work for the County Council should go on to Council's Intranet site for details of this scheme.
