A licence must be acquired in order to sell alcohol. This should be obtained from your district council:

Visit the Department for Culture, Media and Sport website for information about licensing laws including representations relating to the supply of alcohol and the provision of regulated entertainment and more about licensing authorities.
Farmers and livestock hauliers have to maintain records of animal movements. Licences can be obtained from Cheshire County Council Trading Standards on 01244 973714.
Boarding Kennels, Zoos, Slaughter Houses, Pet Shops, Riding Establishments (Horses) and Keeping Dangerous Wild Animals Licence.
These activities are all licensed by the District Council Environmental Health Departments.

A licence is need when young people under school leaving age take part in any performance where a charge is made. For school performances and performances which involve performing for 3 days or less over a 6 month period pupils do not need a Licence.

Licences are required for premises storing explosives. Explosives Licenses (including fireworks) are dealt with by Cheshire County Council Trading Standards on 01244 973108.
Fire Arms and Explosives Licence
Please contact the Firearms and Explosives Licensing Police Officer for all queries relating to firearms, shotguns and explosive applications on 01244 612125 or fax: 01244 612127.
Licenses for amusement arcades and lotteries should also be obtained from the District Council but if alcohol is sold in the same premises, the licence is issued by the Magistrates Court on 08701 626261.
Waste Disposal Licences can be obtained from the Environment Agency on 08708 506 506.

Nurses Employment Agencies Licence
These are supplied by the Commission for Social Care Inspection on 01260 285488.
Petroleum Licensing is dealt with by Cheshire County Council Trading Standards on 01244 973708.

Private Hire Vehicles Licence and Taxis
A licence to operate a taxi (Hackney Carriage) or a private hire vehicle should be obtained from District Councils.

Public Buildings Fire Safety Licence
A Licence must be obtained for Fire Safety in Public Buildings. For information on any matters of Fire Safety contact the nearest Fire Safety office - Cheshire Fire Service.
Public House Licence (Pubs)
A licence must be obtained for consumption and sale of alcohol on a premises. The should be obtained from the Magistrates Courts on 08701 626261.
Street Entertainment, Street Trading, Market Stalls, Street and House to House Collections
Licences for market stalls, street trading, street entertainment, street collections, should be obtained from the District Council.

Tree Felling Licence
The Woodland Grant Scheme and Felling Licences are the responsibility of the Forest Authority (01606 889912).
Waste Disposal Licence
