Living Together

Main heading

Sub-heading

According to Government figures there are now over two million 'opposite sex' couples living together in England and Wales. Couples who live together are now given legal protection in some areas, however they and their families have fewer rights and responsibilities than their married counterparts.

The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) funds and supports two voluntary sector partners, Advice Services Alliance and One Plus One, to manage their 'Living Together' campaign which aims to make both opposite and same sex couples aware of their legal status and provide them with advice as to how they can protect themselves and their families.
