Environment Policy Development Panel | Environment Scrutiny Select Committee | Environment Executive | Highways and Transportation Local Joint Committees
Environment Policy Development Panel is a confidential meeting and is reponsible for considering and advising, as required by the Executive, on the review and development of major plans, policies and strategic decisions with policy implications which require the approval of the full Executive or the full Council. The Panel's views will normally be reported to the Environment Executive for decision.

Andrew Needham is the Executive Member for Environment, Economy, Rural Affairs and Waste. Mrs Eveleigh Moore Dutton is the Executive Member for Highways and Transportation and they are responsible for taking all decisions within the Environment portfolio.

Environment Scrutiny Select Committee has a wide remit but will review or scrutinise decisions or actions taken in respect of any functions which are the responsibility of the Executive.

Highways and Transportation Local Joint Committees generally deal with operational issues in each District, including the maintenance and improvement of highways and traffic regulation and management. Local County and District Councillors work together to oversee local highways and transportation issues. Town and Parish Councils are specifically invited to be represented if an individual topic affects their area. The Joint Committee meetings are open to the public (anyone on the local electoral register may ask a question at the Committee meeting provided at least four days' written notice is given) - see the contacts below for each district with links to access Committee papers.
