Local Safety Schemes

Main heading

Sub-heading

Local Safety Schemes are designed to address potential personal injury accident problems. To qualify as a Scheme, it must be shown that the site or area has a treatable problem and that the occurrence of personal injury accidents is likely to be reduced by the application of cost-effective engineering measures. Local Safety Schemes cannot be implemented where these criteria are not met.

The local Town or Parish Council is consulted at the start of the design process and is sent a copy of our initial proposals for comment. It is also informed as soon as a Scheme in its area has been included in the Council's programme.
