Suggested routes by road:
The easiest routes are via the M6, M56, or A55 (North Wales) to Junction 10 (M53), then A5117 to A5032 (signed to Chester), follow A5032 to A41, turn left and then take 1st left (Church Lane).
Suggested routes by public transport:
Rail: Chester is the nearest main line station. Backford Hall is four miles from Chester Station (a taxi is recommended). Alternatively take the free City Rail Link to Frodsham Street and walk to the Bus Exchange. Please see the City Centre Map
Bus: From Chester Bus Exchange, take First Bus services 1, 3 or Arriva service 401; on all services alight at Backford Church bus shelter and cross over the A41 into Church Lane.
From Birkenhead take First Bus service 1 or Arriva service 401; from Ellesmere Port bus station take First Bus services 1, 3 or Arriva service 401 on all services alight at Backford Church bus shelter and turn into Church Lane.
