We inspect and maintain over 800 bridges (50 of which are Listed Buildings, and 3 of these are also Scheduled Monuments). Regular inspections are done to check their safety and condition as well as to identify any necessary maintenance or repairs.
If a road closure is required for bridge inspection, maintenance or strengthening works, then the relevant Town and Parish Council(s) and all interested people and organisations will be contacted. We will publish closure notices and advertise diversions. |
