About the Centre
The Lindow Unit is a Day Service for older people over the age of 65 who live in Wilmslow, Knutsford Poynton and surrounding areas.
Day services are provided for up to 24 people who need support during the day. The service offers:
- A safe and stimulating environment
- Activities which enable the development of confidence, a positive self image and skills to gain more independence
- Respite for Carers
- Assistance with personal care.
Our purpose is to encourage and help people to gain the highest level of independence.
Specialist Services
A varied activity programme is offered to encourage socialisation, communication, physical and mental stimulation whilst also providing an opportunity to share skills, experiences, memories and enjoyment. The programme may include individual support as well as working together in groups.
We also provide a service for people with dementia or similar conditions which affect their memory. There is particular focus on orientation and reminiscence coupled with a variety of appropriate short activities. We promote a relaxed atmosphere. We respect and value individuality, encouraging spontaneity fun and laughter.

How to Access the Service
All of the services at the Community Support Centre are only available to people following an assessment and agreement that they meet the criteria of being in ‘substantial and critical need’. To request an assessment please contact the relevant Access Team.
