General Information

Falls among older people are unfortunately very common - and yet many can be easily prevented. If we can reduce the number of falls then it will not only help improve the quality of life, and ability to live independently, of many older people it will also help reduce the resultant burden on the Health and Social Services of Cheshire. See the general information links for advice.

Working under the National Service Framework (NSF) standard 6, the NHS Primary Care Trusts in Cheshire are working closely with colleagues in Cheshire Social Services and voluntary organisations to take action to reduce falls and resultant injuries within their populations of older people.

These pages contain information about each of the working groups that has been established and allow you to see minutes of their discussions together with relevant reports, click on the map for more details. These pages are being hosted on the Cheshire County Council site as the Council is one of the major partners in the group.
