Financial Assessment
If you have been assessed by a social worker or social care assessor as needing home care or day care, a financial assessment will then be made to determine how much you can afford to contribute towards the cost of those services.
Cheshire County Council has its own policy for charging for non-residential services made under the Fairer Charging Statutory Guidance issued by the Department of Health in 2002. The leaflet “Community Care in Cheshire, Charging for Non-Residential Services” provides more detailed information.

Supporting People
If you are receiving a service provided under the Supporting People scheme, you are entitled to a financial assessment (under the Fairer Charging policy) to determine how much you can afford to pay. If you are receiving a Supporting People service and a non-residential care service, you will only pay one assessed financial contribution for both services.
