What to do if you think a child is being abused

In the year to 31March 2006, there were 1355 cases of suspected child abuse reported in Cheshire. Children's services work successfully with families to ensure that children are safe and in the majority of cases, they remain safely at home.
If you have concerns about a child's welfare, or feel that they may be being abused, please call any of the following numbers;
- If you live in the Macclesfield, Congleton, Crewe, Knutsford area, please ring our access team on 01625 374700
- If you live in the Winsford, Northwich, Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston area, please ring 01244 973400
If you need to contact someone out of hours and you believe it to be an emergency that can't wait please do call our emergency duty team on 01606 76611.

Please be assured that your referral will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Remember, your call could mean the start of getting the right help to a family and may even save a child's life.
