Throughout Cheshire, including its rural areas, the Council promote many different community and voluntary transport schemes, these include services for people with disabilities. All vehicles are equipped with lifts for wheelchair users.
Dial a Ride
Addresses the transport needs of persons who have mobility problems and who are elderly or infirm. They provide personalised pre-booked accessible door to door transport.
To use Dial a Ride services you will need to complete an application form to become a member of Cheshire Dial a Ride.
The Council supports six Dial a Ride schemes in Cheshire:
Women's Safe Transport
A pre-booked door to door evening service for women in Chester, Ellesmere Port and Vale Royal areas. The service operates on most evenings of the week.
Community Buses
The Council supports four flexible community bus schemes in Cheshire:
Community Car Schemes
The Council supports sixteen Community Car Schemes. Each scheme caters mainly or exclusively for people with mobility problems and/or frail elderly. Journeys are local and essential in nature providing a transport service for local communities.
