Junk Mail can be Recycled Too
Around a million tonnes of junk mail are binned in the UK every year.
Junk mail can be added to your normal paper doorstep collection bin/bag or can be taken to a Household Waste Recycling Centre. Taking these steps will ensure the resource is not lost to landfill. Your junk mail could become tomorrow’s newspaper or kitchen roll or more paper – The possibilities are endless.
How can I stop receiving Junk Mail?
Junk Mail that comes personally addressed to you can be stopped simply by call the Mailing Preference Service (MPS). This free service enables your name and address details to be removed from most mailing lists in the UK. Signing up is simple:
• Send an e-mail to mps@dma.org.uk • Go to the MPS website • Call 020 7291 3310 • Write to them stating that you would like to stop receiving unsolicited mail at the following address:

To stop unsolicited, unaddressed mail (addressed to occupier or householder etc) that is delivered by Royal Mail you can:
