Performance Indicators for Recycling across the whole of Cheshire (Cheshire County Council and the six District Councils) 2006/07
Tonnages:
- waste arising = 435,672
- waste landfilled = 275,669
- waste composted and / or recycled = 159,290
- % recycled and/or composted (excluding rubble) = 36%
- % landfilled = 64%
We recycled and composted 31% in 2005/06.
Government targets for proportion of waste recycled or composted are as follows:
- 30% for 2005/06
- 40% by 2010
- 45% by 2015
- 50% by 2020
