Cheshire County Council ceased to exist on April 1st 2009 when its services and responsibilities transferred to Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council.The pages and documents through this website may contain branding and information relevant to the old councils, but are being made available because they are still relevant to our customers. We are continuing to update all materials on the Cheshire east and Cheshire West and Chester website and aim to remove all references to the old Councils by the end of the year (2009).

Our Purpose

The Social Enterprise Team provides advice and support to potential, new and existing social enterprises across Cheshire. We support the delivery of the Cheshire and Warrington Social Enterprise Partnership’s Strategy as a key partner in the Partnership’s Executive. We also support the Cheshire & Warrington Social Enterprise Network. We act as a champion for Social Enterprise at County, regional and national level by lobbying for greater levels of investment in the sector. We are the contact point for Social Enterprises in Cheshire and play a leading role in the social enterprise field, both regionally and nationally.
